Ramon Robinson to be first PGFL Commissioner
Former Quarterback and current Quarterback trainer Ramon Robinson has been voted in as the first official commissioner for the PGFL. Robinson comes to the PGFL with a wealth of playing, coaching, and management experience.
Ramon Robinson is the founder of Elite Position Training and EPT Football Academy. He was a multi-sports superstar at TL Hanna High School in South Carolina, lettering in football, basketball, and track. During his senior year, he earned all-state, all-area, team offensive player of the year, and the MVP award. After high school, Ramon signed with the #1 ranked JUCO in the country, Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi with the intention of transferring back to Clemson University. After leaving the JUCO program, he decided to accept a scholarship to Benedict College in Columbia where he established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Benedict’s history and still holds numerous offensive records. As a senior, he was named pre-season NAIA All-American and was selected to play in the Black College All-Star Game and the Division II All-American Bowl Game, where he was named the MVP. After an illustrious career at Benedict, Ramon entered the 1999 NFL Draft but went undrafted and signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. Over a 9 year professional career, Ramon made a name for himself while playing in AFL, AF2, CFL, NIFL, and UIF leagues throughout the country, setting numerous offensive records which still stand today. Ramon accumulated 18,890 passing yards, 227 passing touchdowns, and 35 rushing touchdowns over the course of his career, which ended abruptly due to an Achilles injury. It didn’t stop his passion for the sport. After his career-ending injury, Ramon turned his sights to coaching; first, as an assistant and then three years as a head coach. His performance as a head coach and knowledge of the game led him to hold several management positions. Ramon has been a general manager, director of player personnel, and head of football operations for several professional arena football teams. Ramon continued his education, completing his BS in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy. He has found his true passion in educating and training the children and athletes of today to become the elite leaders of tomorrow.
